![]() ![]() Hitting on the same points raised in Jon Krakauer’s Missoula-most notably, that a large percent of college rapes are committed by a small percent of men (read: repeat offenders)- The Hunting Ground is a disturbing examination of how and why nearly one in five women on college campuses experience sexual assault, and the reasons universities rarely pursue or punish the accused. MOVIE REVIEWĪrguably the most powerful documentary you’ll see all year, The Hunting Ground is the controversial exposé on rape at college campuses. ![]() Weaving together verité footage and first-person testimonies, the film follows survivors as they pursue their education while fighting for justice - despite harsh retaliation, harassment and pushback at every level. campuses, institutional cover-ups and the brutal social toll on victims and their families. This documentary focuses on Andrea Pino and Annie Clark, two courageous and heroic women who led a civil rights campaign against the University of North. Terrific documentary. From the team behind THE INVISIBLE WAR, comes a startling exposé of rape crimes on U.S. I think its a little bit more gory than Goosebumps books but comes nowhere near Stephen King novels but its definitely worth a quick read. This film handles very mature material and I think it is for a specific audience. The Hunting Ground A novel by Cliff McNish This is a horror/thriller novel targeted towards a YA audience and as per as its official description it gives a quite a lot of chills and thrills. "The Hunting Ground" is a very unique title for this film and I highly recommend it to anyone college-appropriate or older. That hurt the film slightly for me, as that is not the story for them to be focussing on, but rather what is true and can be explained. ![]() ![]() They begin with percentages to scare the audience and to make them want to take a stand, but once the percentages go away, the filmmakers come up with a clever way of showing what the police of each town is "not" doing. The biggest flaw with this film (which is also it's biggest positive), is that when the statistics for each school come up, you are in awe. Whether or not you believe every story, because there are a few questionable cases, as a film, this is one of the most effective Documentaries you will watch about this specific subject. Following the lives of rape victims on college campuses and diving deep into their stories, was not something I was incredibly keen on viewing, but it works. Haunting, depressing, raw, true, and overwhelmingly large in numbers, "The Hunting Ground is a masterfully crafted Documentary. ![]()
